CCCG Chairman Liu Qitao Meets with Papua New Guinea’s Prime Minister Peter O'Neill

On November 15, Mr. Liu Qitao – Chairman of CCCG met with Peter O'Neill – Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby, capital of Papua New Guinea. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on the Group's development in Papua New Guinea and the direction of cooperation in the next step. Mr. Chen Zhong – General Manager of CCCG Overseas Business Department, Mr. Tang Qiaoliang – CHEC President, Mr. Gu Zhiwen – Deputy Director of CCCG General Office, Mr. Xue Yong – President Assistant and General Manager of Marketing Department of CHEC, Deng Bo – Vice Chief Engineer and General Manager of CHEC South Pacific Regional Center of CHEC, Mr. Chen Wei – Secretary of General Party Branch of CHEC South Pacific Regional Center, Mr. Ma Jianhua – Deputy General Manager of CHEC South Pacific Regional Center and Mr. Wang Yanyu – General Manager of Papua New Guinea Office were also present.
Mr. Liu Qitao said that CCCG has a development history of more than 10 years in Papua New Guinea, and had built more than 20 projects including ports, roads, bridges and workshops, making positive contributions to Papua New Guinea’s economic and social development. In particular, this year, CHEC under CCCG overcame numerous difficulties and efficiently completed the China-aided road project in Papua New Guinea with high quality, providing an important guarantee for the smooth hosting of the APEC Summit and delivering a satisfactory answer to the government and people of Papua New Guinea. Mr. Liu pointed out that as a world's leading comprehensive service provider of infrastructure, CCCG had businesses in more than 150 countries and regions, and could provide high-quality integrated infrastructure services for global customers. As an important country on “the Belt and Road”, , Papua New Guinea has a broad prospect for economic development. CCCG is willing to participate more deeply in the infrastructure investment and construction of Papua New Guinea, actively fulfill its corporate social responsibility, and make new and greater contributions to Papua New Guinea 's economic and social development and friendship between China and Papua New Guinea.
Prime Minister Peter O'Neill expressed welcome to the visit of Mr. Liu Qitao and his delegation and spoke highly of the development of CCCG and CHEC in Papua New Guinea. He pointed out that CCCC and CHEC enjoyed a high reputation in Papua New Guinea, undertook a series of important projects such as Port of LAW and NCDC Road Improvement, and played an important role in improving Papua New Guinea's infrastructure. The government of Papua New Guinea is willing to further deepen pragmatic cooperation with CCCC and CHEC, foster and implement more good projects for mutual benefit and win-win results, and push the friendly cooperation between China and Papua New Guinea to a new level.
That afternoon, Mr. Liu Qitao and his delegation also met with Bowles Parkpu, governor of the capital area of Papua New Guinea.
