The Joint Venture Involving CHEC Won the Bid for Kyaukpyu Special Economic Zone Deepwater Port Project in Myanmar

On December 29th, the Assembly of the Union of Myanmar voted to pass the development scheme for Kyaukpyu Special Economic Zone. The Special Economic Zone covers an area of 4289 acres and comprises of three parts – deep-water ports, industrial park and residential area. The first deep-water part covers an area of 370.7 acres and the second deepwater part covers an area of 237.2 acres.

On the afternoon of December 30th, the Kyaukpyu Special Economic Zone Committee formally announced that Zhongxin Joint Venture involving CHEC won the bid for Kyaukpyu Special Economic Zone Deep-water Port Project.
