Jizan Dredging and Reclamation Project in Saudi Arabia Commenced Officially

On the afternoon of November 27, Jizan Dredging and Reclamation operation in Saudi Arabia started officially, marking the official commencement of this project.

The contract for this project was signed on September 26 and the contract amount was about USD 390 million. The client is one of the largest petroleum companies in the world – ARAMCO and the project management team is AECOM. After the contract was signed, the leaders of CHEC and Saudi Arabia Regional Management Center paid much attention to it and rapidly established the project general manager department to effectively allocate the resources. Together with CCCC Tianjin Dredging Co., Ltd., CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. and other brother units, they completed a series of pre-construction preparation, such as the dispatching of large-scale ships and machines, approaching of personnel, construction of temporary campsite, technical support and HSEQ in more than 50 days and realized the first node objective required in the contract ahead of schedule.

Along with the smooth commencement of dredging work, all the staffs of the project department were encouraged. They would overcome the difficulties with firm confidence, provide high-quality satisfactory service for the client, create good economic and social benefit for the Company and consolidate CHEC’s market status in Saudi Arabia.

The contract for Jizan Dredging and Reclamation Project in Saudi Arabia is a general construction contract. The project site is about 100km away from Jizan City and it is a port infrastructure project of Jizan Economic City. The project mainly covers basin and channel dredging, land area reclamation by pumping filling, breakwater and revetment construction and a heavy-piece terminal and its subsidiary facilities.
